Putin did not expect that there would be an agreement between the EU, the USA and other democratic countries

He believes that the war in Ukraine encouraged many countries to invest in their own defense and armaments

Montenegro needs a legitimate Supreme State Prosecutor’s Office because the judiciary does not function without it, said Josip Juratovic, a member of the German Bundestag, in the program “Arrhythmia” of the City RTV Montenegro, authored by Tamara Nikcevic.

    – We should work on electing the judges of the Constitutional Court, and it is up to the national minorities to agree on the seventh article, so as not to be an argument for those who do not want the judiciary to function. Since there were two experiments regarding the Government and now a technical Government, elections should be held. You have to have such an attitude as a democrat that you say I am no longer legitimate, the people need to decide what and how we will proceed – believes Juratovic.

Asked if he expects the Government, which was voted no-confidence, to introduce Montenegro into the Open Balkans, Juratović says that this possibility is all the more reason to hold elections and to form a legitimate parliament and government.

Juratovic also conveyed his impressions from the first meeting with the ministers from the Government of Zdravko Krivokapic, stating that the apostles should represent the Church and not interfere with the work of the parliament and the democratic system.

We are the Government of the 12 Apostles

    – When there was the first change of government, a minister whose name I can’t remember, came to us in the Bundestag, in my working group – the Parliamentary Group for the Western Balkans. The first thing that caught my eye – he says: “We are the Government of the 12 Apostles.” What kind of apostles?!”, recalls Juratovic.

Juratovic warns that democracy has rules of the game, but that it cannot be experimented with.

    – The second message was: “Well, you know, we are separate”. Now, I don’t know from whom? We don’t really have much to do with the parliament, we are not interested in the parliament as such, but when someone comes to a democratic country and says inside the parliament that the parliament does not play that much of a role for them – they are like the 12 apostles, you wonder who appointed them? Probably some religious community – says Juric.

The war in Ukraine could last until the limit of endurance of one or the other side, i.e. several years to come, Juratović estimates. There is a big difference, he believes, when someone defends his country and when he is an aggressor.

    – Putin was very mistaken, expecting that the people of Kyiv would welcome him with flags and that the international community would not show solidarity with the Ukrainians. He violated international law with his regime and the question for all of us was: “If we allow it, which country will be next?”, he states.

He points out that Ukraine received enormous help, in different ways, and that the government of Chancellor Å olc reacted well in this situation.

    Humanitarian aid and armaments

    – From Germany, we sent humanitarian aid, as well as aid through weapons, taking care not to bring our defense alliance into a direct conflict that could turn into an atomic war. We will continue to do that, we will help Ukraine in every possible way, because our values, international rights, basic human rights, and everything that is carried by the convention, which, among other things, Russia also signed and then violated, are being defended there – emphasizes Juratovic.

Although the German government acted very cautiously from the beginning, they managed to achieve the goal, as he states, and for the entire free democratic world to be united in the defense of Ukraine.

    – Putin did not count on such a thing because it was known that Europe has problems with some of its members. As an autocrat, he could not understand that there could be a dialogue and an agreement between the EU, the USA, and other democratic countries and that the entire Western transatlantic defense system could be solid and unified – said the deputy.

He believes that the war in Ukraine has encouraged many countries to invest in their own defense and armaments and that this has influenced the reduction of the number of tanks sent to Ukraine.
