    The price of wheat hit an unprecedented level after the Russian attack on Ukraine

    On Thursday, grain prices recorded record levels in the European market trading sessions, and the price of wheat rose in an unprecedented manner, with 344 euros (about 384 dollars) per ton at the “Euronext” group, which manages a number of European stock exchanges.

    The prices of wheat and corn, which are Ukraine’s fourth exporter globally, have risen significantly since the opening of trading sessions, hours after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

    On Thursday, Russian ground forces entered Ukraine from several directions, according to the Ukrainian border guards, hours after President Vladimir Putin announced an attack on the country.

    On Thursday morning, Putin announced a “military operation” in Ukraine in defense of pro-Moscow separatists in the east of that country.

    “I have taken the decision to launch a military operation,” Putin said, in a televised speech, once again denouncing the “genocide” organized by Ukraine in the east of the country.

    And he addressed directly to the Ukrainian soldiers, saying: “I invite you to lay down your arms,” ​​stressing that then they will be able to “leave the battlefield without hindrance.”
