    Moscow records a record daily death toll from Corona

    On Sunday, Moscow announced a record number of deaths from the Coronavirus in the last 24 hours, in an indication of the continuing deterioration of the situation in Russia, which is under the weight of the mutated version of Corona, Delta.

    Official data reported by Russian news agencies indicated that Moscow recorded 144 deaths within 24 hours, the worst toll since the epidemic began. Saint Petersburg, the second city in Russia, recorded a record death toll of 107 on Saturday.

    The whole of Russia has recorded 20,538 new infections out of more than 5.4 million cases reported in the country since the beginning of the epidemic.

    And 599 people died within one day, out of a total death toll of 133,282 cases, according to official figures.

    Russia is one of the countries most affected by Covid, while it is currently being severely affected by the mutated version of the delta, which is causing concern worldwide.

    In recent weeks, Moscow has re-imposed restrictions such as forcing some employees to work again remotely, forcing service sector employees to receive vaccinations, and even creating a health card that is not allowed to go to restaurants without it.
