There are about 7,000 different diagnoses of rare diseases, one of which is pulmonary hypertension
The Association of Citizens Suffering from Pulmonary Hypertension “Dah” in Bosnia and Herzegovina again this year organized an activity dedicated to the International Day of Rare Diseases. Given the circumstances under which they work, they tried to gather the support of associations and organizations for all rare patients in our country, and under the motto “Rare are many, few are strong, few are proud” which is the motto of this year’s campaign EURORDIS – European Rare Diseases Organization.
Association “Dah” was joined by the Coalition of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities of Zenica-Doboj Canton from Zenica, Association of Physical Education Teachers from Zavidovici, Association of Medical Students “Bohemsa” from Sarajevo, Gymnasium “Rizah Odzeckic” from Zavidovići, Association of Disabled Workers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from Sarajevo, Mixed High School from Zavidovici and the Association of Patients with Rare Diseases from Gracanica. All of them sent photos with appropriate banners of various colors that symbolize various rare diseases, which were also published on the social networks of this Association.
There was no lack of support, and the participants in this activity were very happy to participate in the celebration of the International Day of Rare Diseases, satisfied that they at least in some way helped draw the attention of the BiH public to the plight of patients with rare diseases.
There are about 7,000 different diagnoses of rare diseases, one of which is pulmonary hypertension. In the world, about 300 million people suffer from some of them. They are generally considered to be of genetic origin, however, they can also arise from various infections and allergies.
International Day of Rare Diseases is celebrated every last day of February.
