Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo, the figure of the Juventus and the selected one of his country, today denied the accusations about an alleged violation of the quarantine when returning from Lisbon, where he contracted coronavirus, to Turin, to continue the period of social isolation.
“It’s all a lie; I returned to Turin from Lisbon on a flight authorized by the Italian health authorities”, said CR7 in statements reproduced by the Catalan newspaper Sport, after being accused of an alleged violation of health protocols.
The crack of the Juventus, who will miss his team’s debut this afternoon in the Champions League against Dynamo Kyiv, was accused by Italy’s Sports Minister, Guiseppe Spadafora, of having evaded the quarantine and returned from Portugal to Italy “without authorization”.
“I returned from Lisbon to Turin without having the minimum contact with anyone, together with my team we respect the protocols” added the Portuguese, top scorer in the Champions League with 131 goals.
