    the “Oko” ethno-film festival will be held online

    The film festival was planned to be held in a colorful village in the Odessa region.
    The ethnographic festival “Oko” will be held online due to the inclusion of the main platforms in the Odessa region, where the festival was planned to be held, into the “red zone”.

    According to the organizers, on September 12-19, online broadcasts of competitive and non-competitive films of national and international blocks will be available on the festival website. All previously announced lectures will also be held online.

    Every day from 19.00 to 21.00 the festival team will conduct live broadcasts with the participation of directors of the national competition program and members of the jury. Viewers will learn interesting stories and details of the creation of tapes, and will also be able to ask guests of the festival’s online studio questions in real-time. It will be possible to join the opening ceremony, awarding the winners, and closing the film festival in a stream format.

    The film festival consists of an international and national feature competition and an international short film competition. Section of the international full meter – 6 tapes with a timing of 40 min. It features films from Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. 8 paintings were included in the national competition of full meters. The short program of the festival consists of 6 thematic blocks of 5 films, in particular of Ukrainian production.

    In general, viewers will be able to travel with the film festival to 29 countries in the world.

    The jury consisted of famous filmmakers and folklorists: film director and screenwriter Mikhail Ilyenko, director and producer Sergei Proskurnya, singer and folklorist Katya Chilly, Bulgarian film director Vasily Barkov, folklorist and professor at the Kyiv National University named after I. Taras Shevchenko Elena Ivanovskaya, actress Rimma Zyubina, film critic and producer Aksinya Kurina.

    Note that the festival was planned to be held in the Odesa region, in the village of Krinichnoe on the shore of the large lake of Ukraine

    Earlier it was reported that the Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert was canceled due to the coronavirus.
