She was a legend of Yugoslav rock, and died as a homeless woman

She became famous, of course, in the band EKV, along with Milan Mladenovic. They met after his concert, he immediately invited her to join the band

The keyboardist of the group Ekaterina Velika, Margita Stefanovic Magi, was one of the most popular faces of ex-Yugoslav music, and just like Mladen Mladenovic, who also suffered a tragic fate, the audience adored her.

She started playing music as a little girl and grew up in an artistic family. She became famous, of course, in the band EKV, and after she met Mladenović after his concert, he immediately invited her to join the band, delighted with her talent.

They created together until his death in 1995. Throughout her career, she struggled with addiction, and her drug problem escalated after her father’s death.

She passed away 18 years ago, on September 18, 2002, when she was only 43 years old. The musical heroine met her end alone and as a homeless woman, and one of the most famous and most successful ex-yu groups was left without another member in a tragic way. She died in an infectious disease clinic in Belgrade, and like Mladenovic, she left an indelible mark on the music of this area.
