You know, stranger… Bosnia has one love, which cannot be described. The first verse is Esed, and the second Mahira… And every day I am proud, before the whole world, and grateful with my soul before the Exalted for this love and each of your new smiles, that I would not wish for anything more. These words describe the photographs of Esed and Mahire Ahmiš, taken in Sarajevo from the lens of photographers Faruk and Esma, who thus evoke an incredible story. It is a story about wonderful people, courage, sacrifice, struggle, will, faith, happiness, and most of all, the strength of a woman. This is a story that should be a lesson to everyone.
The Ahmis family from Vogosca is the personification of everything the world should be, and most of all the personification of love, dignity and those things that life means.
When Mahira married Esed 12 years ago, she had no idea what would fall on her newly grown shoulder. Just a year after the wedding, Esed became seriously ill with multiple sclerosis and was soon confined to a wheelchair. Apart from him, to whom she dedicated her whole life, carrying him in her arms, caring for him, treating him, alleviating his severe illnesses in every way, Mahira equally cares for their two golden children, daughter Sumejja and son Imran.
But everything is easier with good people. Mahira tirelessly repeats this on social media, where she publishes daily sketches from the life of the Ahmish family. So a few months ago, she announced that the benefactors had provided them with a home elevator, so at least she no longer has to carry Esed up the stairs – down the stairs. Earlier, benefactors sent them to Hajj, and last week unknown people paid for their trip to Istanbul.
Shortly after returning from the city on the Bosphorus, Mahira gave an interview for “Azra”. They do not know who gave them this unforgettable trip, but they are truly grateful. Those who had the opportunity to meet them in Istanbul also enjoyed it. Mahira Ahmis described that detail on Facebook.
We’re sitting in a restaurant, having dinner. I feed Esed, hold his head and encourage him to swallow, and so on, our every standard day… Standardly, Esed can’t swallow well, so we improvise something, helem, while we were laughing so little, “fighting” a little with food , we did not know that the army of Turks and Turks was watching us from the side. We only found out at the end, when we were done, because there was so much applause that we were ashamed. “Ej vallah, ej vallah”; “Masallah”; “Allahu akbar!” Where some of the shouts! One of them approached and said, half-Bosnian tuc-muc: “You must be from Bosnia! Bosnia should be proud of you because we are proud! ” And then we started whining. Here are the worlds, you sent us with a “cheek” to the guests – Mahira wrote on social networks, in a kind of diary that she kept with pictures and videos from Istanbul.
